Pacemaker interference by automatic mode change
Kim Sung-Hwan

Abstract
Pacemaker (DDD type) was implanted because of complete atrioventricular block. Four years later, the threshold of atrial lead was increased and new pacemaker (VDD) was implanted. However, there was pacemaker pocket site infection at the upper left chest and pacemaker was implanted at the subxiphoid area. Unfortunately, the absence of atrial lead resulted in pacemaker syndrome. New pacemaker was implanted at the upper right chest and old pacemaker was turned off. Twelve years later, unnecessary unipolar ventricular pacing was detected.
